Where have you been all my life?
I am not a good breakfast person, and I really feel it at around 10am when I’m eyeing out that bag of crisps because in the flash and flurry of getting kids up, packed, off to school and my work day started – I don’t make time to eat a proper breakfast (yes Mom, you were right, it is the most important meal of the day xxx).
Overnight oats are perfect for busy mornings because they can be made ahead of time, and a basic batch last for days in the fridge, is super easy to prepare, and will keep you full until lunchtime.
This is hands down the easiest, most time saving, nutritious & yummy, energy packed way to mix up your morning breakfast routine, and with a bit of creativity each serving will be different.
HOW TO MAKE
A basic batch is equal parts rolled oats, and milk – diary or non-diary it’s up to you. Add a few drops of vanilla essence I add a sprinkling of chia seeds because I love the added texture.
Place in a mason jar, or make it up in a bowl and cover with a beeswax wrap, pop it in the fridge overnight.
NOW IT’S TIME TO GET CREATIVE
In the morning stir your oats and add a dash of liquid and now for your toppings. Take a look at what you have in the kitchen and get creative.
Overnight oats don’t need to be cooked, but you can warm it up by heating in the microwave for about 1 minute.
I’d love to hear some of you favourite combinations, or if you have any questions fire away and I’ll get back to you.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
Cheers Bek xxx
